The 19th Century Brown Bird Sampler counted cross stitch pattern was adapted from a 19th century American, German Pennsylvanian painting, which was originally done on wove paper in ink and water-based paint, by an unknown artist. This design has a large bird at the center, with flowers and leaves on both sides.
